My group used sound effects to produce a short film of our own. In order to convey the genre and plot in a school bathroom, mise en scène elements and camera techniques were implemented. A tense atmosphere was emphasized by using sounds such as running faucets, flushing toilets, and unlocking stall doors. The short film's horror genre was identified by the tense soundtrack, slow-to-moderate tempo, crescendo, and the students' confused facial expressions. The plot was carefully developed by utilizing images, music, sound, and dialogue. The tracking shot created suspense for an event that was anticipated, and camera movements and techniques were used. The calm atmosphere of the film was introduced with a static shot, which was quickly broken up to reveal a tense scene.
Reflection
In order to get ready for a big film production, my group worked together, concentrating on planning and making the most of the home and school contexts as well as the resources that are accessible. The use of sound has been crucial in enhancing visual effects and establishing the tone, mood, and atmosphere of the viewer. Peyton mainly handled filming and editing by recording the video footage on her phone to edit scenes and do smooth transitions on Cap Cut. I inspired the group to explore different routes in filmmaking, using camerawork techniques and acting to improvise on acting. Marley and Khloe organized, managing, keeping the set in order, coming up with new ideas.
